In Switzerland, a study by the Zurich social services department came to a similar conclusion: \u201cFrom an economic perspective, every franc invested in day care will eventually yield four times that amount.\u201d Such an investment not only allows the mother to earn an income, but what is more important, it fosters better socialization and integration of the children, thereby avoiding the costs of future social services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(To be continued)<\/p>\n<p>Source: Ruehle, Alex, \u201eDie Zukunft entscheidet sich im Kindergarten\u201c, sueddeutsche.de, 14 July 2010.<\/p>\n<p>*In the area of engineering\/technology and computer sciences, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Technical University of Munich, officially recognized by the German government as an \u201celite university,\u201d is ranked with twenty-two other universities at 78 or below, well beneath such institutions as the Technical University of Denmark. (http:\/\/www.arwu.org\/ARWUFIELD2009ENG.jsp) According to The Times of London, in its Higher Education Supplement [THES], World University Rankings, 2009, the Technical University of Munich is ranked 55 overall among the world\u2019s universities.
