That reform also had its start as a bureaucratic fantasy, and it too aroused strong opposition. In the end, when it was more than clear that the reform was a mistake, its supporters began to slowly back off, in several stages, all of which led ultimately to a sweeping reversal of the reform. (http:\/\/www.arwu.org\/ARWUFIELD2009ENG.jsp) According to The Times of London, in its Higher Education Supplement [THES], World University Rankings, 2009, the Technical University of Munich is ranked 55 overall among the world\u2019s universities. Auch sie ging auf eine b\u00fcrokratische Phantasie zur\u00fcck, auch sie l\u00f6ste heftigen Widerstand aus, und als endlich \u00fcberdeutlich wurde, dass sie ein Irrtum war, begann ein z\u00e4hes Zur\u00fcckweichen, das, in mehreren Etappen, zur weitgehenden Aufl\u00f6sung der Reform f\u00fchrte.
