The Technical University of Munich* \u2013 \u201cOld Secret Police Agents Never Die, Sometimes They Just Go into Politics\u201d \u2013 17<\/p>\n
(NOTE: This report illustrates just how long and persistent German institutional memory can be, and who can embody it, even in cases where there may not be a direct link with a German university like the Technical University of Munich.)<\/p>\n
In Schwerin (the capital of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where Schoenberg is located), the Interior Ministry has to decide how to proceed.<\/p>\n But the question remains: why does Michael Heinze have such support among the people of Schoenberg? Does a background in the Stasi, together with shoot-to-kill orders, not matter any more? Do efficiency and results count more than simple humanity?
