The results of the Leipzig study refute that idea. The authors\u2019 conclusion: \u201cPeople in eastern Germany tend to favour a right-wing authoritarian dictatorship, and they exhibit excessive patriotism and xenophobia. On the other hand, people in western Germany are more anti-Semitic and more likely to believe in social Darwinism.
