We only saw it from the outside. Only at the end of war, when I was a sixteen-year-old girl, I saw the train from Buchenwald with its half-starved prisoners and many dead bodies. Was im Lager wirklich passiert ist, das haben wir nicht gewusst. Wir haben es ja nur von au\u00dfen gesehen. Erst bei Kriegsende, als 16-j\u00e4hriges M\u00e4dchen, sah ich dann den Zug aus Buchenwald mit den halbverhungerten H\u00e4ftlingen und den vielen Toten.
