The effect of those efforts, though, appears in quite the opposite light if you examine the figures. “Munich, Inc.” is seen to be less efficient when its universities are compared to other ones. At the University of Munich (the LMU), 5,129 scientists have been responsible for attracting outside funding for research projects that averages 22,800 euros ($31,300) per scientist. At the Technical University of Munich, the figures are 4,100 scientists averaging 28,400 euros ($38,900) each. However, at the University of Wurzburg, the numbers are 2,523 scientists averaging 35,800 euros ($49,100) each; at Erlangen-Nuremberg, the figures are 3,340 scientists and 26,600 euros ($39,200) each; and at Bayreuth, 934 scientists averaging 30,000 euros ($41,200) each’.”

(To be continued)

Source: Wolfgang Kemp, „Clustrophobische Ausbildungsdiscounter,“ Sueddeutsche Zeitung, 18 July 2007.

“I feel like someone who has been attacked and injured by a group of thugs.
