At the end of the month there\u2019s often not enough money to pay expenses. Dr Todt works without pay, however, mainly because she doesn\u2019t want to lose touch with the academic world. <\/p>\n<p>Few people realize that there\u2019s been nearly a thirty percent increase in university employees like Sabine Todt in the last ten years in Germany \u2013 freelance, temporary instructors who work without any health or social insurance benefits.
