”Gary Philipp registered a formal protest. Another year passed. The German social security administration again rejected his application, saying that his statements were in general not credible but without giving any more specific reason. When our reporters contacted the social security office for an interview, they refused. However, they did provide us with a written statement, which states that in the case of Gary Philipp – as in similar cases – the additional food that he received ‘could not be accepted as “compensation” as defined by the applicable social security regulations’.”

„Gary Philipp legt Widerspruch ein. Wieder vergeht ein ganzes Jahr, dann lehnt die Rentenversicherung Nord erneut ab. Seine Angaben seien nicht glaubhaft, heißt es pauschal, wieder ohne Begründung. Ein Interview mit Frontal 21 lehnt die Behörde ab. Auch dafür keine Begründung. Schriftlich teilt man uns mit, dass in Fällen wie Gary Philipp eine weitere Mahlzeit (Zitat:) ‚… nicht die Anforderung an ein Entgelt im Sinne der Rentenversicherung erfüllt’.“
