Gundolf Keil’s handwriting is utterly distinctive. It appears almost compulsively precise, and because of this “school-pupil” way of writing, Keil is known as “Gundolf the child” in professional circles. If the documents mentioned as alleged proof against Keil are shown to his former colleagues, they all, without exception, say, “That is by him, by all means.” However, since the originals from which the photocopies were made are not available, it is impossible to know if the documents are forgeries or if they are copies of papers that really exist. One argument for the authenticity of at least one item from 1996 is this: the receipt for 20,000 Deutschmarks, on which the name of a doctoral candidate has been entered, is written out on a pre-printed form from the Avery Zweckform Company. The company stopped printing these particular forms at the end of the 1990’s. Since then, they have not been commercially available.

Die Technische Universität München* – Promotionen: Würzburger Doktorfabrik – 18
Die Schrift von Gundolf Keil ist überaus charakteristisch, sie mutet fast zwanghaft exakt an, in Fachkreisen nennt man ihn ob dieser grundschülerhaften Art auch »Gundolf, das Kind«. Zeigt man ehemaligen Kollegen des Emeritus die vermeintlichen Beweise, sagen sie unisono: »Das ist auf jeden Fall von ihm.« Doch ob es sich um Fälschungen oder Kopien von echten Dokumenten handelt, ist in Ermangelung von Originalen nicht festzustellen. Ein Argument für die Echtheit zumindest eines Belegs aus dem Jahr 1996 könnte sein, dass der Quittungsvordruck, auf dem die Summe »20.000 DM« und der Name eines Habilitanden eingetragen sind, von der Firma Zweckform nur bis Ende der neunziger Jahre hergestellt wurde. Er ist seither nicht mehr im Handel erhältlich.
