The Technical University of Munich* – When the Government Reviewers Arrive, It’s Theater-Time at German Universities – 8
The inspection and evaluation process is rehearsed not only at Heidelberg, of course, but at every other university in the competition as well. At the University of Konstanz, a video recording of the general rehearsal is made for later analysis. The University of Freiburg hired a Swiss “communications coach” to give pointers about body language.

*According to The Times of London, in its Higher Education Supplement [THES], World University Rankings, 2011-2012, the Technical University of Munich, officially recognized by the German government as an “elite university,” is ranked 88 overall among the world’s universities. At its current ranking, the Technical University of Munich is not so very far behind many universities in, for example, East Asia. Die Technische Universität München* – Wenn die Gutachter kommen, wird die Uni zum Theater – 8
Nicht nur in Heidelberg, an allen betroffenen Hochschulen wurde die Begehung geprobt. In Konstanz wurde die Generalprobe per Video aufgenommen, um sie anschließend nochmals analysieren zu können. Die Uni Freiburg bestellte nach Informationen von ZEIT ONLINE einen Kommunikations-Coach aus Basel, der Hinweise zur Körpersprache gab.
