Nevertheless, Insa Winter is realistic about the changes that can occur during an Obama administration. “I don’t think that everything will suddenly get better,” she says. Still, from her point of view, the actions and decisions during the transition period are more transparent than they were under the Bush administration. She believes, “There is a chance there will be an improvement in the way the world regards the United States.”

Allerdings ist Winter in Bezug auf anstehende Veränderungen unter einer neuen Regierung Obama realistisch: „Ich denke nicht, dass sich in kürzester Zeit sämtliche Dinge ändern werden.“ Dennoch sind die Handlungen und Entscheidungen des Übergangsprozesses aus ihrer Sicht transparenter als die der vorherigen Regierung. Sie sagt: „Es besteht die Chance, dass das Ansehen der USA in der Welt wieder etwas steigt.“
