The Technical University of Munich* – Burnout and Depression? – 8
For a long time, as normal conditions for employment, these demands have included: the completion of university studies in the shortest possible time, a knowledge of several foreign languages, and a great deal of practical experience. “In no case should a student be allowed to actually live a life during the university years,” says Evelyn Wendt. She adds that during their studies many young people are very much afraid that meeting even those requirements will not be enough and that they will be unemployed after they receive their degree.

Ein möglichst schnelles Studium, mehrere Fremdsprachen und viel Praxiserfahrung seien längst gängige Bedingungen. “Man soll auf keinen Fall leben während der Uni-Zeit”, sagte Wendt. Viele junge Leute hätten schon während des Studiums große Angst, diesen Anforderungen nicht zu genügen und nach dem Abschluss arbeitslos zu enden.
