“What makes phosgene gas so treacherous to work with is that its effects can begin to manifest themselves between six and twenty-four hours after exposure. The two victims of the accident at the Technical University of Munich obviously underestimated the aggressive nature of the gas, because the university spokesman said they left the hospital Saturday morning, against the advice of doctors.”

Die Technische Universität München* – Polizei ermittelt wegen Körperverletzung – 9
„Das Tückische an Phosgen ist allerdings, dass seine Wirkung mit einer Verzögerung von sechs bis 24 Stunden eintreten kann. Die beiden Betroffenen haben die Aggressivität des Gases offenbar unterschätzt. Gegen ärztlichen Rat hätten der Wissenschaftler und die Assistentin am Samstagvormittag die Klinik verlassen, sagt der TU-Sprecher.“
