“ZEIT: ‘Paper is patient,’ as the saying goes. In other words, it can take time for anything written to take effect. Do you really expect your report to achieve something?
“Lenzen: Yes. We had the same experience with our report on the need for changes in thinking about German education. A politician who wants to set something in motion can refer to our work. At the same time, other politicians can find themselves in an untenable position if they act against the advice of recognized experts.”
