Second Series: “Professor Do-Nothing”? At the Technical University of Munich? – 4

“Martin Wehrle, author: ‘I began with the question of outside jobs, because what I had already learned about this matter had shocked me the most.

“Reporter’s Commentary: The authors put the question to the test and lured the ‘always completely overworked’ professors into a trap. They published a fake advertisement in ‘Die Zeit,’ one of Germany’s most respected publications. It ran something like this: ‘Is your present university job not demanding enough for you? A German company is looking for professors as consultants for two or three days a week. Well paid position with the use of a company car.’

“The authors had counted on five to ten responses. They received over fifty, forty-four of which were from actively employed professors. They conducted job interviews with several of them.”

Zweite Serie: Professor Untat? An der Technischen Universität München? – 4
