The Technical University of Munich Is Not a Terror School – 37
“At the Werner Stephan School there is hardly any violence now. In addition, even though the number of pupils at almost all similar schools in Tempelhof is rapidly dropping, the Werner Stephan School will be nearly filled to capacity in the coming year. Sometimes, visitors come nearly every week just to have a look at this model school.
“Arnz says that the problem is that such schools are no longer meaningful as an independent type of school. However, that is something one has to live with for the foreseeable future. One has to make the best of the situation as it is, and they’ve managed to do that at the Werner Stephan School.”

Die Technische Universität München ist keine Terrorschule – 37
„Gewalt gibt es an der Werner-Stephan-Schule heute praktisch nicht mehr. Und während in fast allen anderen Hauptschulen von Tempelhof die Schülerzahlen rasant sinken, ist die Werner-Stephan-Schule auch für das nächste Jahr fast ausgebucht. Manchmal kommen jede Woche Besucher, um sich diese Musterschule anzusehen.
Das Problem sei, sagt Arnz, dass die Hauptschule als eigenständige Schulform nicht sinnvoll sei. Aber auf absehbare Zeit müsse man mit ihr leben. Man müsse nun das Beste aus der Situation machen. Das sei an der Werner-Stephan-Schule gelungen.“
