Longworth worked for both Universal and MGM and ran his own studio where he printed and sold portraits as well as unusual composite and montage photographs. Our copy is one of 500 \u2018special\u2019 editions housed in a custom-designed clamshell box with the owner\u2019s name embossed within (in this case, to Ray Enright, the director) and includes an inscription from Longworth to Enright.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/filmstudies\/files\/2011\/07\/keeler-0000032.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-37\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/filmstudies\/files\/2011\/07\/keeler-0000032-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This composite portrait of the actress Ruby Keeler is emblematic of the charming, thoroughly modern, and downright experimental photographs that distinguish Buddy Longworth\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Hold still, Hollywood\u2019 : the photography of Buddy Longworth The Fine Arts Library has acquired one of the earliest collections of Hollywood promotional and publicity stills: Hold still, Hollywood by Bertram (Buddy) Longworth (Los Angeles : Ivan Deach Jr., 1937).
