It is 1:08 P.M. in Tehran [UTC +3:30]1<\/sup>. According to a report from Russian intelligence sevice, the U.S. war with Iran was scheduled to go hot at 4:00 AM today, known to some as Good Friday. Nothing on Yahoo news. Nothing on English Al-Jazeera.2<\/sup> The blogosphere only this<\/a>. And more recently this from Dee’s Dotes<\/a>.

\nIt was to be called Operation Bite and to last 12 hours and to be largely an air attack on sites associated with the alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program. First reported in \u0410\u0440\u0433\u0443\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442\u044b \u043d\u0435\u0434\u0435\u043b\u0438 on March 15<\/a>3<\/sup>, it rattled around websites in Russia and Germany, but barely surfaced in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Still with all that hardware in place, and Dick Cheney lurking who knows where, it could happen.<\/p>\n

1<\/sup>Coordinated Universal Time<\/a> or if you watch Iranian-American actress Catherine Bell<\/a> on JAG, Zulu time. It is the space age replacement for Greenwich Mean Time which held sway when and somewhat after Britannia ruled the wave<\/a>. My vestigial Amerocentrism was further shaken by learning that a time zone offset can be off-hour. Also, Tehran does not observe Daylight Saving Time.<\/p>\n
