{"id":8833,"date":"2008-01-27T12:25:46","date_gmt":"2008-01-27T17:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/01\/27\/we-again-stifle-our-obama-oratory\/"},"modified":"2011-08-05T14:53:33","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T18:53:33","slug":"we-again-stifle-our-obama-oratory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/01\/27\/we-again-stifle-our-obama-oratory\/","title":{"rendered":"we again stifle our obama oratory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  <strong><em> <\/em><em>A<\/em><\/strong>fter last night&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/01\/27\/us\/politics\/27carolina.html?th&amp;emc=th\">results<\/a> in South Carolina, the temptation to break the <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> Christmas Eve <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2007\/12\/24\/breaking-hillarys-heart-the-end-of-an-error\/\">no-political-punditry pledge<\/a> is even greater today than <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/01\/04\/we-focus-on-mainichi-haiku-and-not-my-main-mans-iowa-coup\/\">it was<\/a> after the Iowa caucuses, and during the past few weeks of bilious <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/01\/26\/opinion\/26herbert.html?_r=1&amp;th=&amp;oref=slogin&amp;emc=th&amp;pagewanted=print\">Billderdash<\/a> on the campaign trail.  However, as we said back on January 4th, &#8220;we\u2019ve never been able to have just one drink at the punditry bar, so I just put the cork back on that bottle of opine wine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/01\/obama08logo.jpg\" \/>  <em><strong>N<\/strong><\/em>evertheless, I will say two things: (1) I joined &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/my.barackobama.com\/page\/content\/nyhome\">Obama for New York<\/a>&#8221; last night, plan to be one of the honkees at the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.barackobama.com\/page\/event\/detail\/4rhv8\">Honk for Hope<\/a> rally this afternoon in Albany, NY, and have just bookmarked the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.barackobama.com\/page\/community\/post\/capitaldistrictny\/CGxkR\">Obama Capital District NY Blog<\/a>.  And, (2) No matter how much I might agree with the agenda of whoever is chosen to live in the White House this November, I do not want to live through another four or eight years with a President who is personally loathed (not merely a gender or racial dislike or preference) by scores of millions of Americans.
