Giacalone) with haiku or senryu penned by her son, your <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> host, David Giacalone.  The expressive faces &#8212; whether impish, sheepish, or cherub<em>ish<\/em> &#8212; of Linda, Arthur and David, the three <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/david-arthur-linda-then-and-now\/\">Giacalone sibs<\/a>, bring back memories and suggest timeless childhood themes, many of which are echoed in our adult lives.<\/p>\n<p>You can find many of those haiga scattered around the <a href=\"http:\/\/magnapoets.typepad.com\/magnapoets_japanese_form\/\"><em>MagnaPoets Japanese Form<\/em><\/a> group weblog, and in miniature form here and there at this website.  But, to help spread the cheer and to thank our many readers this Holiday Season, I decided to bring a dozen of the Giacalone Nostalgia Haiga together in one place, and to give them an aura of utility by packaging them as a monthly calendar. It&#8217;s presented as a printable Word document (in landscape mode), and comes to 14 pages, with the front and back covers.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re allowed to giggle and even snicker, but please-please don&#8217;t use what our &#8220;a&#8221; friend <a href=\"http:\/\/magnapoets.typepad.com\/summa_summarum\/\">Aurora Antonovic<\/a> (proprietress of <em>MagnaPoets<\/em> and haiga editor of <em>Simply Haiku Journal<\/em>) calls the &#8220;a-word&#8221; &#8212; adorable.
