\u00a0\"pinataG\" Another day, another procrastination break.\u00a0 And, another pointer to postings past.\u00a0 Two years ago today, I wrote “cuatro de mayo: soups and sticks<\/a>,” with the explanation “I\u2019m writing a day early about Cinco de Mayo, to remind you to prepare for the celebration — with food, music and pinatas.”\u00a0 You’ll find a good description of Menudo Soup,\u00a0and a link to more recipes.\u00a0 You’ll also find a bowlful of haiku on the soup theme.\u00a0 A click on our\u00a0“may 5th menudo<\/a>” post from last year will tell you why the 1862 Mexican battle against the French that is commemorated on May 5th might have helped assure a Union victory in our Civil War.\u00a0<\/p>\n
