The Guardian is one smart  newspaper\/website.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">We celebrate this morning with a tip of our coffee mug and a posting at <a href=\"http:\/\/dagosanshaikudiary.blogspot.com\/2010\/07\/vi-013-babybarista-makes-his-move-again.html\"><em>dagosan&#8217;s haiku diary<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2007\/04\/BornFreeTrainerCup.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"BornFreeTrainerCup\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2007\/04\/BornFreeTrainerCup-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"129\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a> special post-retirement follow-up<\/strong><\/em> (May 26, 2010; 11 PM): Rather than having BabyB hidden behind the  looming new paywall of <em>The Times Online<\/em>, Tim Kevan has withdraw  his BabyBarista weblog from <em>The Times<\/em> and relaunched it at\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.babybarista.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.babybarista.com\/<\/a>.\u00a0  See Tim&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/timkevan.blogspot.com\/2010\/05\/press-release-babybarista-resigns-from.html\">press  release<\/a> (May 27, 2010) at his original <a href=\"http:\/\/timkevan.blogspot.com\/\"><em>Barrister Blog<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0  Although he made the decision to withdraw with regret, and remains &#8220;<em>extremely  grateful  to <em>The Times<\/em> for hosting the  blog<\/em>&#8220;, Tim explained  that &#8220;<em> I didn\u2019t start this  blog for it to be the exclusive preserve  of a limited few subscribers.<\/em>&#8221; The <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> Gang rouses  ourselves from our archival slumbers to salute their declaration of  independence, and to wish BabyBarista and Tim Kevan all the best at the  &#8220;free-standing&#8221; website.\u00a0 We also look forward to the paperback version  of BabyB&#8217;s first novel &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/gp\/product\/0747594643?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=httptimkevanb-21&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=19450&amp;creativeASIN=0747594643\"><em>The  Art of Wa<\/em>r<\/a>,&#8221; which will be published this summer, under the new  title <em><em><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Law-Disorder-Confessions-Pupil-Barrister\/dp\/1408801140\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1274895314&amp;sr=8-1\">Law  and Disorder<\/a><\/em><\/em><\/em>, as well as the sequel expected in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2007\/04\/BabyBLogo.jpg\" alt=\"BabyBLogo\" width=\"45\" height=\"48\" \/> <em>BabyBarista<\/em> hasn&#8217;t yet secured a position in Chambers, but the fictional pupil barrister has just landed in the big leagues of the UK legal scene, only <em>two months<\/em> after launching <a href=\"http:\/\/babybarista.blogspot.com\/\">his blogspot diary<\/a> of impish machinations and\u00a0well-mentored cynicism. This mischievous\u00a0&#8220;fictional account of a pupil barrister undergoing the trials of pupillage at the English Bar&#8221;\u00a0caused such a stir around the Inns of Court, that the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/\"><em>Baby Barister<\/em> weblog<\/a> is now hosted by the <em>London <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/business.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/business\/law\/\"><em>TimesOnLine<\/em><\/a>, in its Law Reports section (<a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/rss.xml\">rss<\/a> link; <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2007\/04\/day_131_week_27.html\">live<\/a> as of April 9, 2007).<\/p>\n<p>To the delight of <em>BabyB<\/em>&#8216;s fans, the <em>TimesOnline<\/em> site\u00a0includes prequel postings, filling in\u00a0the first year of\u00a0pupillage.\u00a0 Here, in brief, is <em>The Story So Far<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>BabyBarista<\/em> has been a <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_1_week_1_th.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">pupil<\/span><\/a> barrister <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_2_week_1_to.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">fighting<\/span><\/a> to get a place at a London chambers since October last year. Early on, he made a <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/11\/day_25_week_5_f.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">faustian pact<\/span><\/a> with <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_21_week_5_s.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">The Boss<\/span><\/a> to help cover up his <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_22_week_5_b.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">negligence<\/span><\/a> in return for preferment. Meanwhile, he has been committing various acts of subterfuge against his fellow pupils. First, he encouraged <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_10_week_2_w.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Worrier<\/span><\/a> to make a career-limiting sex discrimination <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/12\/day_48_week_10_.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">complaint<\/span><\/a>. Then he <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2007\/01\/day_71_week_15_.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">set up BusyBody<\/span><\/a> by making it <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2007\/01\/day_75_week_16_.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">appear<\/span><\/a> as if she put a recording of the head of chambers\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/11\/day_41_week_9_t.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">comments<\/span><\/a> on YouTube. He is currently testing the faithfulness of <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2006\/10\/day_21_week_5_s.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">TopFirst<\/span><\/a> to his fiancee using <a href=\"http:\/\/timesonline.typepad.com\/baby_barista\/2007\/03\/day_117_week_24.html\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">HoneyTrap<\/span><\/a>.
