\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In his classic book The Joys of Yiddish<\/a><\/em>, Leo Rosten defines naches<\/em> as “the glow of pleasure-plus-pride that only a child can give to its parents.”\u00a0 Around f\/k\/a<\/em>, the Gang finds that our best naches<\/a>-moments of joy, pride and gratification involve the accomplishments of our Honored Guest Poets<\/a>.\u00a0 This morning, our chests and hearts are swelling with naches over The Heron’s Nest<\/em> Readers’ Choice Awards 2006<\/a> (Vol. VIII).<\/p>\n

\"thnLogoGF\"\u00a0\u00a0The Readers of the esteemed haiku journal The Heron’s Nest<\/a><\/em> have chosen as their Favorite Poem<\/strong>\u00a0from Volume VIII<\/a> (2006) of THN<\/em>, this gem from Billie Wilson<\/a>:<\/p>\n

THN<\/em> Readers’ Choice Popular Poets<\/strong>\u00a0 \"thnLogoG\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition, Heron’s Nest<\/em> readers choose their Favorite Poets (who are arrived at by totaling the number of votes awarded each poet for their entire body of work in Volume VIII. ).\u00a0 For 2006, the Grand Prize<\/em> went to our Honorable Guest Poet and friend, John Stevenson<\/a> and the First Runner-up Prize<\/em> went to Billie Wilson<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
