Martin Luther King, Jr.\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stanford.edu\/group\/King\/popular_requests\/frequentdocs\/birmingham.pdf\"><font color=\"#00418b\">Letter from a Birmingham Jail<\/font><\/a>\u00a0deserves repetition more than his\u00a0powerful reminder that\u00a0\u201d<em>Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 Across the blogiverse, today, Dr. King is being honored in writings\u00a0about justice and equality in many aspects of our society: politics, education,\u00a0economy, court system, etc. (see the compilation of postings from law-related weblogs at the foot of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pdstuff.blogspot.com\/2007\/01\/blawg-review-91_7974.html\"><font color=\"#00418b\"><em>Blawg Review<\/em> 91<\/font><\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"58\" alt=\"MLKjr\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2007\/01\/mlkjg.gif\" width=\"55\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2006\/01\/16\/martin-luther-king-jr-a-dream-plus-courage\/\">in other years,<\/a> I&#8217;d like to state my admiration for Dr. King&#8217;s courage\u00a0(especially as\u00a0contrasted to today&#8217;s pampered\u00a0protestors, who want no consequences for their so-called civil disobedience)\u00a0and his commitment to the long struggle (as compared to <em>slacktivists<\/em> who engage in symbolic gestures that take little time or effort).\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mlkday.gov\/\">Day of Service<\/a> program in his honor &#8212; with its motto &#8220;<em>A day\u00a0ON, not a day OFF<\/em>&#8221; &#8212; is a fitting tribute.\u00a0 The <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> Gang is going to fulfill its promised Day of Service over the next week, and hope you&#8217;ll do the same.\u00a0\u00a0Then,\u00a0our task is to make the struggle against &#8220;injustice anywhere&#8221; a daily practice, and not merely a one day affair.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Martin Luther King Day&#8230;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a watermain break shuts down<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His boulevard<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Martin Luther King Day&#8230;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the weight of ice<br \/>\n\u00a0 on a magnolia branch<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>. . . by ed markowski<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Martin Luther King Day\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"64\" alt=\"NoYabutsSN\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2006\/12\/NoYabutsSN.gif\" width=\"50\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nthey say it&#8217;s too cold<br \/>\nto march<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>power\u00a0lines down\u00a0&#8212;<br \/>\na sand truck follows<br \/>\nthe MLK parade<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>. . . by dagosan<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Over at shlep,\u00a0(in &#8220;MLK and the pro se movement&#8220;)\u00a0I just\u00a0wrote that no message in Rev.
