{"id":7281,"date":"2006-12-21T20:47:58","date_gmt":"2006-12-22T01:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2006\/12\/21\/in-a-family-way\/"},"modified":"2011-08-05T14:53:53","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T18:53:53","slug":"in-a-family-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2006\/12\/21\/in-a-family-way\/","title":{"rendered":"in a family way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"50\" alt=\"twins51\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2006\/12\/twins%20nov51%20small.gif\" width=\"92\" \/>\u00a0 <em>Confession<\/em>: I forgot, here at <em>f\/k\/a<\/em>,\u00a0to wish my (twin) brother Arthur\u00a0&#8220;happy birthday&#8221;, back on December 9th.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Granted, I was out of town and not in a weblogging mode that day, but I still feel bad.\u00a0 Of course, birthdays are not exactly rare for gents born in 1949, and we don&#8217;t make a big deal about them.\u00a0 However, I can<em>not<\/em> let another milestone for the Giacalone brothers pass\u00a0without noting it at this haiku forum:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"50\" alt=\"twins01\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2006\/12\/twins%202001%20small.gif\" width=\"72\" \/>\u00a0Today, Arthur Giacalone joined the ranks of published haijin, with two of his photographs appearing in the journal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haigaonline.com\/\"><em>HaigaOnline<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.haigaonline.com\/issue7-2\/start.html\">Issue 7-2<\/a>, Autumn-Winter 2006). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/viewmedia.php\/prmMID\/5940\">haiga<\/a> is a form of art in which an image is combined with a subtly-linked poem &#8212; complementing, rather than explaining each other.
