\"twins51\"\u00a0 Confession<\/em>: I forgot, here at f\/k\/a<\/em>,\u00a0to wish my (twin) brother Arthur\u00a0“happy birthday”, back on December 9th.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Granted, I was out of town and not in a weblogging mode that day, but I still feel bad.\u00a0 Of course, birthdays are not exactly rare for gents born in 1949, and we don’t make a big deal about them.\u00a0 However, I cannot<\/em> let another milestone for the Giacalone brothers pass\u00a0without noting it at this haiku forum:<\/p>\n

\"twins01\"\u00a0Today, Arthur Giacalone joined the ranks of published haijin, with two of his photographs appearing in the journal HaigaOnline<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Issue 7-2<\/a>, Autumn-Winter 2006). haiga<\/a> is a form of art in which an image is combined with a subtly-linked poem — complementing, rather than explaining each other. [See Aurora Antonovic’s Editor’s Introduction to Modern Haiga<\/a>, at Simply Haiku<\/em>.]\u00a0\u00a0Even more exciting for me,\u00a0Arthur and I\u00a0collaborated<\/a> on the haiga (our first joint venture in many decades), with me providing the haiku.\u00a0 Please go see the fullsized works at HaigaOnline<\/em>, where you will find many other great examples of this multi-faceted genre.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
