As <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0377744\/\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">IMBD notes<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">in describing <em>a day without a mexican<\/em>:<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><strong>Tagline:<\/strong> On May 14 there will be no Mexicans in <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">California.<\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><strong>Plot Outline:<\/strong> One day California wakes up and not <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">a single Latino is left in the state. They have all inex-<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">plicably dissappeared, chaos, tragedy, and comedy <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">quickly ensue. <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/rg\/title-tease\/trailers\/title\/tt0377744\/trailers\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">(view trailer)<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> <\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Sure, immigration is a very complex subject (see, e.g. <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2006\/04\/29\/AR2006042901556_pf.html\"><em><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Washinton Post<\/font><\/em><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">, <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">&#8220;Immigration&#8217;s Bottom Line, April 30, 2006; &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/news.ncmonline.com\/news\/view_article.html?article_id=f03df4d86d9469ef5af66d1b7f784010\"><font color=\"#000000\">Hispanic Media Split<\/font><\/a> on <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">May 1 Boycott,&#8221; <em>New America Media<\/em>, April 24, 2006<\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">), and one movie <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">might <\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">not do the topic justice.  Nonetheless, the film&#8217;s weaknesses <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">might be <\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">just what our White House is looking for:<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/withoutMexicanG.gif\" alt=\"withoutMexicanG\" \/><\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/tinycheck.gif\" alt=\"tiny check\" \/>  &#8220;. . As satire, however, the film is toothless. It doesn&#8217;t ask the <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">important questions of why the situation continues. It&#8217;s satisfied <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">to point out an injustice without going any deeper, satisfied to <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">remain infotainment, distributing some facts amid the laughs that <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">may make a few people ponder but won&#8217;t necessarily ruffle any <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">feathers.<\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">&#8220;Perhaps it is the filmmakers&#8217; intent to make that one bold statement <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">\u00a6#x2014; &#8220;Notice us! Appreciate us!&#8221; \u00a6#x2014; and then move on. There is some-<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">thing to be said about keeping a politically charged message simple, <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">but it also feels safe and geared to maximize the box office.&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">                           Kevin Crust, <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.calendarlive.com\/movies\/reviews\/cl-et-crust14may14,2,724488.story\"><em><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">L.A. Times<\/font><\/em><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">, May 14, 2004<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/tinycheck.gif\" alt=\"tiny check\" \/>  &#8220;A Day Without a Mexican<\/em> plays like a <em>Twilight Zone<\/em> episode <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">conceived for Mexican television and padded out to three times <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">its half-hour storyline. Its narrative conceit will entertain for a <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">while, but eventually you will long to disappear with the rest <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">of the Mexicans.&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">               Marjorie Baumgarten, <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austinchronicle.com\/gbase\/Calendar\/Film?Film=oid%3A228888\"><em><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Austin Chronicle<\/font><\/em><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">, Sept. 24, 2004<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/NODD.gif\" alt=\"NODD\" \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">On a related topic, the ever-practical folk at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notonedamndime.com\/boycott\/#Day\">Not One Damn Dime<\/a>, sent me (and <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">thousands of others, of course) an <\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">email today declaring their support for tomorrow&#8217;s <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">&#8220;Great American Boycott.&#8221;  With their usual perceptive grasp of economics and <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">politics they declare:  <\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">If the anti-immigrant politicians and hatemongers are right, that &#8216;immigrants <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">are a drain on society,&#8217; then during the day on May 1st, the stock market <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">will surge, and the economy will boom. If not, we prove them wrong once<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">and for all. We know what will happen! <\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">With their usual fine sense of what is politically doable (and morally correct) they <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">assert:  &#8220;<em>We will settle for nothing less than full amnesty<\/em> and dignity for the millions of <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">undocumented workers presently in the U.S. &#8221;   The <em>f\/ka<\/em> Gang confesses: NODD has <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">a big mountain to climb, after their first Not One Damn Dime Day silliness &#8212; before we <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">will be able to take them seriously. We were intrigued by a <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">book that promised to be curmudgeonly, witty and informative about <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">the art and science of practicing law, <em>and<\/em> which Herrmann <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonesday.com\/mherrmann\/\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">claims<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">: <\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">&#8220;<em>became an instant cult classic<\/em> among law students and law <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">firm associates. It is among ABA Publishing&#8217;s fastest-selling <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">books of all time.&#8221;  (emphasis added)<\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">You can only imagine, therefore, the let down, when we discovered <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">on the ABA<font color=\"#000000\"> <\/font><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abanet.org\/abastore\/index.cfm?section=main&amp;fm=Product.AddToCart&amp;pid=5310356\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">webpage<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> for <em>CGPL<\/em> <em>that <\/em>&#8220;This product is not yet available, <\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">but <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">can be pre-ordered.<em>&#8220;<\/em>  Also, the <em>&#8220;where to buy&#8221; button <\/em>at Herrman&#8217;s law firm, <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonesday.com\/pubs\/pubs_detail.aspx?pubID=S3259\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Jones Day<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"><font color=\"#000000\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\">, links only to <\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\">the ABA page.  When queried, Evan <\/font><\/font><\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.illinoistrialpractice.com\/2006\/04\/practical_advic.html#comment-16740151\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">suggested<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\">, <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">that there must be other &#8220;channels of distribution&#8221; and lots of pre-orders.  <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">However, <em>PriceGrabber<\/em> <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/ostg.pricegrabber.com\/search_getprod.php\/isbn=1590316762\"><font color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">states<\/font><\/a><font color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\"> that the only source is Amazon.com, and <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font color=\"#000000\"> <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1590316762\/ref=nosim\/102-9892500-1392132?n=283155\"><font color=\"#000000\">Amazon.com says<\/font><\/a> &#8220;<\/em>This<\/font> item has not yet been released,&#8221; while noting <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">a &#8220;September 30, 2006&#8221; publication date. <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Are we being<em> too<\/em> curmudgeonly to ask how a book that has not yet <\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">reached more than a handful of readers\/<\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/lawprofessors.typepad.com\/legalwriting\/2006\/04\/recommended_rea_1.html\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">reviewers<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> could be called &#8220;an<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\">instant classic.&#8221;  Doth pre-orders a classic make?  More like &#8220;<em>imminent <\/em><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><em>classic<\/em>,&#8221; don&#8217;t you think&#8221;?   It is a strange bit of puffery &#8212; and sounds like <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><em>lawyer <\/em><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><em>hyperbole<\/em>, to me. He&#8217;s trying <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">to make listeners feel that he&#8217;s right there with them, taking in their requests and <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">their reactions as if he were playing a live roadhouse gig rather than a canned radio <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">show.&#8221;<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">I&#8217;m always fascinated by the way two (giving myself the benefit of the doubt) <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">mentally competent speakers of the same langague can come away with very <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">different interpretations of the same words.   For example, for me, &#8220;we&#8217;ll be sure <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">to hear from you again,&#8221; sounds <em>exactly<\/em> like Hank is rudely trying &#8212; in Mark&#8217;s <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\">words &#8212; &#8220;to commit the listener to tuning in again.&#8221;<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\"><font size=\"2\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Mark ends with<\/font><\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">: <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/microphoneG.gif\" alt=\"microphoneG\" \/><\/font><\/font>\u00a0 <font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Hank chose an image that emphasized the empathy he wanted to feel, <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">and if he strayed a bit beyond the strict bounds of logic, surely an <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/stories\/storyReader$3908\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">author of &#8220;one-breath poetry&#8221;<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> can forgive him.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">To me, by skewing the meaning of the words, instead of saying something factually <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">true that invited the listener to come back, Hank &#8212; and I&#8217;m a fan of his music &#8212; is <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">manipulating the feelings of the listener and making our language a bit less useful <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">as a tool of communication.  Surely, if Hank tried his &#8220;But, I&#8217;ve been here with you <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">all night&#8221; baloney with a sweetheart, from out of town, she&#8217;d call his bluff.  And maybe <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">sing &#8220;Your <\/font><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">Cheatin&#8217; Heart.&#8221;<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/boywritingflip.gif\" alt=\"boy writing flip\" \/><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">I really do enjoy the virtual conversations with Prof. Liberman, but I have to make a<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">dissent from his last clause:  &#8220;if [Hank] strayed a bit beyond the strict bounds of logic, <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">surely an <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/stories\/storyReader$3908\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">author of &#8220;one-breath poetry&#8221;<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"> can forgive him.&#8221;  Mark needs to read the <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif\" size=\"2\">page he has pointed to (&#8220;is it or ain&#8217;t it haiku?&#8221;).
