The ads<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> are so self-congratulatory, self-righteous, and self-consciously<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> serio-heroic, that I appear to have only two options to salvage<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> my sanity [and supper]:  1) watch no commercial television until<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> after Election Day, or 2) move far beyond the reach of Spitzer&#8217;s<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> campaign ads.<\/font><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/spitzerG.gif\" alt=\"spitzerG\" \/> . . .  <\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/spitzerG.gif\" alt=\"spitzerG\" \/> . . .<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/spitzerG.gif\" alt=\"spitzerG\" \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> Frankly, I don&#8217;t think I have the <em>sitzfleish<\/em> necessary to subject<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> myself to more <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spitzer2006.com\/main.cfm?actionId=blogShowExcerpts\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Spitzer2006<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> television ads.  Luckily, I listen to<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> virtually no commercial radio, so radio-induced nausea has not<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> been a problem.  <\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">As we <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2005\/12\/23#a5610\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">pointed out<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> last December (reacting to <\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Prof. Bainbridge&#8217;s<\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> question: <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.professorbainbridge.com\/2005\/12\/spitzer_thug.html\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Spitzer = Thug?<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">), in German: <\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">&#8211;  the noun <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dict.cc\/?s=Spitzer\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">spitzer<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> is a sharpener; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">&#8211;  <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dict.cc\/?s=Spitzer\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">spitze<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> is acuteness, the pinnacle, a sting or a prick; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> &#8211; the verb <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dict.cc\/?s=Spitzen\"><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">spitzen<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> is to nib or sharpen.<\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">Candidate Spitzer is indeed way ahead in all the polls,  But, his ads <\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">are nibbling away at the enthusiasm of a growing number of his supporters.   Already seen as &#8221; a sting or a prick&#8221; by his opponents, Spitzer may soon be seen as <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldwidewords.org\/qa\/qa-nib1.htm\">His Nibs<\/a><\/em> by television viewers across the State,<\/font> <font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">most of whom can never hope to have enough <em>sitzfleish<\/em> to sit through Spitzer2006 camgaign ads for the next 5+ months.<\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/voteneg.gif\" alt=\"vote neg\" \/><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> Mark Gilbert has pondered <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theroyalgazette.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20041203\/BUSINESS\/112030125\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/www.theroyalgazette.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20041203\/BUSINESS\/112030125\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">&#8220;<font color=\"#000000\">The unintended economic consequences&#8221;<\/font><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"> of Eliot Spitzer&#8217;s actions as NYS Attorney General.
