What a treat. Joe Harnett<\/span><\/a>, longtime radio host of “The Old BallGame<\/em><\/a>“, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

has a website by that name that is constantly refreshed with new <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

lore and literature about baseball — with audio versions of many fine <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

short stories, comic routines, managerial rants and more. This week, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

he added <\/span><\/span><\/span>readings of <\/span><\/span><\/span>20 baseball-related poems by our Honored Guest <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

buddy <\/span><\/span><\/span>ed markowski<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the selections already appear on our f\/k\/a Baseball Haiku<\/em><\/a> page. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But hearing them so well rendered orally adds a great new dimension. (The <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

only thing we’d do differently is to leave out the Asian sounds — Ed’s poetry <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

and the game sounds are All-American.)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
