I&#8217;m never surprised, but always appalled, to see that so many<\/FONT><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\">people in the legal profession (and law enforcement, <FONT color=\"black\">like <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/jurist.law.pitt.edu\/paperchase\/2004\/12\/kerik-withdraws-as-homeland-security.php\"><FONT color=\"black\">Bernard Kerik<\/FONT><\/A><FONT color=\"black\">)&nbsp;are so willing to<\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">violate immigration and tax laws to get cheap child care services &#8212; even at risk of foiling<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">future high office.&nbsp; For lawyers, I think it&#8217;s behavior that deserves disbarment. The poor<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">working stiff and honest taxpayer get to subsidize these arrogant ninnies.<\/FONT><\/DIV><\/FONT><\/DIV><\/FONT><FONT face=\"Arial\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><br \/>\n<LI><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\"><A href=\"http:\/\/www.freep.com\/sports\/albom\/mitch12e_20041212.htm\"><FONT color=\"black\">Mitch Albom<\/FONT><\/A><FONT color=\"black\"> and <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/www.freep.com\/features\/living\/riley12e_20041212.htm\"><FONT color=\"black\">Rochelle Riley<\/FONT><\/A><FONT color=\"black\"> of the Detroit Free Press each had good columns <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">yesterday about children and parents and telephonic privacy.&nbsp; (see our blurb<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">yesterday)&nbsp; Let&#8217;s hope the Washington high court&#8217;s triumph of children&#8217;s privacy<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT color=\"black\" size=\"2\">rights over parental obligations and rights leads to better, truly &#8220;family friendly&#8221; laws.<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\"><FONT color=\"black\">(via <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/legalaffairs.org\/howappealing\/\"><FONT color=\"black\">Howard Bashman<\/FONT><\/A><FONT color=\"black\">)<\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<LI><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\"><\/FONT><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\">I like the <A href=\"http:\/\/taxprof.typepad.com\/taxprof_blog\/2004\/12\/bbc_laptops_may.html\"><FONT color=\"black\">TaxProf&#8217;s idea<\/FONT><\/A><FONT color=\"black\"> for<\/FONT> reducing the number of lawyers &#8212; let the males use laptops<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\">for exams (to <\/FONT><FONT color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\"><A href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/health\/4078895.stm\">reduce fertility<\/A><\/FONT><FONT size=\"2\">).&nbsp; I&#8217;m also pleased to see that the <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/www.law.com\/jsp\/printerfriendly.jsp?c=LawArticle&amp;t=PrinterFriendlyArticle&amp;cid=1102340161973\"><FONT size=\"2\">best and the brightest<\/FONT><\/A><FONT size=\"2\"> of <\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\">our young folk may <\/FONT><FONT size=\"2\">be moving away from law as a profession to areas where they will <\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT size=\"2\">be more productive <\/FONT><FONT size=\"2\">and, hopefully, happier with their career choices.&nbsp; <\/FONT><\/DIV><\/DIV><\/DIV><\/DIV><\/LI><\/UL><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><br \/>\n<UL><br \/>\n<LI><br \/>\n<DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">Mike at <EM>Crime &amp; Federalism<\/EM> asks visitors to share law school <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/federalism.typepad.com\/crime_federalism\/2004\/12\/exam_horror_sto.html\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">exam horror stories<\/FONT><\/A><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\">.&nbsp;
