<\/FONT><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">It&#8217;s not difficult to <\/FONT><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">click on&nbsp;a thesaurus (<EM>e.g.<\/EM>, <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/www.m-w.com\/thesaurus.htm\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">Merriam-Webster<\/FONT><\/A><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">, <A href=\"http:\/\/www.bartleby.com\/62\/\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">Roget II<\/FONT><\/A><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">, <\/FONT>or <A href=\"http:\/\/www.cogsci.princeton.edu\/~wn\/\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">WorldNet<\/FONT><\/A><\/FONT><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">.),&nbsp;but the American news media&nbsp;seems allergic to synonyms in this presidential campaign.&nbsp; And, we&#8217;ve been condemned to cliche hell.<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"2\"><\/FONT><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\"><\/FONT>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">Until recently, I couldn&#8217;t figure out why the two political parties were spending&nbsp;<\/FONT><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">so much money to woo the 806 people living in <\/FONT><A href=\"http:\/\/www.bartleby.com\/69\/62\/B03062.html\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"2\">Battle Ground, Indiana<\/FONT><\/A><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\"> (Tippecanoe County),&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; [click<A href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/discuss\/msgReader$2538\"> here<\/A> to read all of this swinging post]<\/FONT><\/DIV><FONT size=\"2\"><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\"><\/FONT>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\"><\/FONT>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\"><\/FONT>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV dir=\"ltr\"><FONT face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">Maybe, soon, <EM>swing<\/EM> will again have connotations that I enjoy.&nbsp;
