MyShingle pointed<\/FONT><\/A> today to a more-informative-than-usual article about the outsourcing of actual lawyer work (not merely back-office functions, which Milbank Tweed is <\/FONT>reported<\/FONT><\/A> to be planning to do in a large way).  The article, “<\/FONT>A Passage to India<\/FONT><\/A>,” by lawyer Rich Smith appears as Commentary on the <\/FONT>Motley Fool<\/FONT><\/A> website (Jan. 26, 2004).<\/FONT><\/DIV>

Smith intelligently discusses the causes and likely consequences of moving legal work offshore.  He notes, for example:<\/FONT><\/DIV>
