{"id":4607,"date":"2003-10-06T01:00:37","date_gmt":"2003-10-06T05:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/formerlyknownas\/2003\/10\/06\/and-throw-away-the-key\/"},"modified":"2011-08-05T15:00:37","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T19:00:37","slug":"and-throw-away-the-key","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2003\/10\/06\/and-throw-away-the-key\/","title":{"rendered":"And Throw Away the Key?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a318'><\/a><\/p>\n<p><DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\">My cyber colleague Carolyn Elefant over at <A href=\"http:\/\/myshingle.com\/article.pl?sid=03\/10\/04\/226206\">MyShingle <\/A><\/FONT><FONT face=\"Arial\"><A href=\"http:\/\/myshingle.com\/article.pl?sid=03\/10\/04\/226206\">reported<\/A> Sunday morning about a Louisiana judge who issued a bench warrant for an attorney&nbsp;who failed&nbsp;to appear at a hearing.&nbsp; The lawyer spent an hour in lockup and had to post a $20,000 bond.&nbsp;&nbsp; The story is <A href=\"http:\/\/www.theadvertiser.com\/news\/html\/FE397EBA-8D0C-4D1C-90D7-8BDD3A8DD94A.shtml\">described<\/A> in the <EM>Lafeyette Daily Advertiser<\/EM> (Oct. 4, 2003). <\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\"><\/FONT>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\">Said attorney &#8212; surprise!!
