have told you about BR<\/EM> #43, even if Diane hadn’t mentioned Your Editor <\/FONT><\/DIV>

and this weblog (favorably) a bunch of times.  [Thanks, Diane, I’m glad <\/FONT><\/DIV>

my Mother was able to lobby successfully on behalf of her youngest child.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n

Diane struggled to find a theme for this week’s Blawg Review<\/EM>, and <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
ended up waxing dramatic on the interplay between William Shake-<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
spear and the law (plus, the world of lawyer weblogs):<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n

Why not Shakespeare?
<\/STRONG>
Shakespeare and the law alike embody the power of language–<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
the poetry and nuance of the written and spoken word. Both stand <\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
as enduring institutions, yet are fluid enough to lend themselves to <\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
reinterpretation. Shakespeare and law are theatre–captivating audi-<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
ences with tales of comedy, tragedy, crime, justice, betrayal, ambition,<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
 villainy, and love. Both exert profound influence, igniting public passion <\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
and imagination.<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV><\/FONT><\/BLOCKQUOTE>
\n

Moreover, law and justice emerge often as themes and metaphors <\/EM><\/FONT>
\n
throughout Shakespeare’s work. For further reading, <\/FONT><\/EM>click<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>] . . . As<\/FONT><\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>

I mulled this idea over, it suddenly dawned on me that we law bloggers <\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
even have our very own Bard (true, <\/FONT><\/EM>David Giacalone<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A> pens <\/FONT><\/EM>haiku<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>, not <\/FONT><\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Elizabethan sonnets<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>, but, hey, allow me some poetic license here).
That clinched it for me (especially the serendipitous discovery that <\/FONT><\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
David had been a mediator like I am).<\/EM>

Therefore, I welcome you to the Shakespearean edition of <\/EM><\/FONT>Blawg Review<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>.<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV><\/BLOCKQUOTE>
\n

What About Clients?<\/EM><\/FONT><\/A>, I know I will be returning regularly.  Given my feelings <\/FONT><\/DIV>

about lawyer branding,<\/FONT> I’m looking forward to seeing Dan’s <\/FONT><\/FONT>perspectives, and <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>

Done at Last! Thoughts on Procrastination<\/A> — at least until I saw he was <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>

trying to cure people of procrastination.  Nonetheless, you might know <\/FONT><\/DIV>

someone who needs it.  For myself, despite having a big deadline tonight, <\/FONT><\/DIV>

I think I’ll reread Jacob A. Stein’s column in the January Washington Lawyer<\/EM>  <\/FONT><\/DIV>
