Christmas <\/FONT>holiday, <\/FONT>the high priests of Blawgdom at Blawg Review<\/FONT><\/A><\/EM> have co-<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
opted <\/FONT>Boxing Day<\/FONT><\/A> <\/FONT>and chosen December 26 for the bestowal of their first-<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
ever Blawg Review Awards<\/A>. <\/FONT><\/DIV>

If you’re interested in weblogs about law, the legal profession and legal <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
education, you will want to peruse the <\/FONT>Blawg Review Awards 2005<\/FONT><\/A>.  We <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
have dubbed this bestowal of honors on those who edit or contribute to <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
legal weblogs <\/FONT>Blawxing Day<\/A><\/FONT>.   Although much could be said of this <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
event (beyond its striking graphics, which borrow <\/FONT>Greg Horn<\/FONT><\/A>‘s image of <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
She-Hulk<\/A> <\/FONT>as Lady Justice), let’s start this morning with three observations:<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
1) <\/FONT>By giving over 40 awards, Blawg Review  <\/EM>— in addition to showing great <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
marketing savvy — has made a crucial point: weblogging is a multi-faceted <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
activity, with a great variety of styles, approaches, and purposes.  When <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
done well over a substantial length of time, weblogs fitting many needs <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
and niches deserve recognition.  Blawg Review Awards 2005<\/FONT><\/A> highlights <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
the scope and depth of the communication form and format known as<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
blawging.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
2) “Ed” and the other gents at Blawg Review<\/EM> have taken their <\/FONT>awards, but <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
not themselves, seriously.  Bravo.<\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>

<\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
                                                                                                “spotlightS”<\/FONT><\/DIV>

<\/FONT> <\/DIV>

3)  f\/k\/a<\/EM> is both pleased-as-punch and punch-drunk after receiving the  <\/FONT><\/DIV>

BRA 2005 Award as “Creative Law [We]Blog<\/EM>.”  Some would call our <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
combination of poetry, punditry and preachy professionalism a strange <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
symptom of the Editor’s many personalities.  But, “creative” sounds much <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
less like a malady and more like a virtue.  W<\/FONT>e’ll all be working harder than <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
ever to find inspiration <\/FONT>from the exasperations <\/FONT>of law and life on planet Earth.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
