We’ve been posting Christmas-<\/FONT>related haiku throughout the <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
past week, for your Holiday enjoyment.  Tonight (instead of <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
gift wrapping), your procrastinating Editor collected haiku <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
and senryu by our Honored Guest Poets, plus dagosan<\/EM>, to  <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
create the f\/k\/a<\/EM> <\/FONT>christmas season haiku<\/EM> page<\/A>.   With more <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
than 40 one-<\/FONT>breath poems, there is something to please every <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Grinch and S<\/FONT>crooge (and perhaps Christmas Warriors, too). <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
However, don’t fret that we’ve become too soft and    \"NoSantaGS\"<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
sentimental here at the home of Prof. Yabut<\/FONT><\/A> and <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
skepticalEsq<\/EM>.  For example:<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n

\n
\"tiny  Your editor has never gotten all warm or <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
fuzzy over Christmas and birthday cards from life <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
and <\/FONT>auto insurers, or law firms, and the like.  So, <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
there <\/FONT>wasn’t much chance of me smiling joyously at <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
the e-card greetings that arrived today <\/FONT>from Andrew Cuomo<\/A>, <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
son of New York’s illustrious <\/FONT>former governor, Mario, <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
and current candidate<\/A> for <\/FONT>State Attorney General.  <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Nonetheless, just in case <\/FONT>his <\/FONT>cute <\/FONT>daughters and <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
sappy sentiments are just <\/FONT>what you <\/FONT>need <\/FONT>to get <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
into the Holiday Spirit, I will <\/FONT>repeat them here:<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n

gravitas — <\/FONT>but they could easily send potential supporters <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
looking <\/FONT><\/FONT>elsewhere.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

Your <\/FONT>organization<\/FONT>al <\/FONT>skills are also a bit suspect: the Holidays <\/FONT><\/DIV>

e-message points <\/FONT>to the Andrew Cuomo for <\/FONT><\/EM><\/A><\/FONT>Attorney<\/EM> Website<\/FONT><\/A>, <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
which currently <\/FONT>has a blank white page, <\/FONT>that declares in the <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
upper lefthand <\/FONT>corner: “AndrewCuomo.com <\/FONT>is coming shortly.”   <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
“Coming <\/FONT>shortly” is never a great strategy for getting elected.  <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
You’ve <\/FONT>got <\/FONT>big name-recognition advantages right now over <\/FONT>Mark <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Green <\/FONT>and other opponents, Andrew, but you might squander <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
it, if <\/FONT>you don’t <\/FONT>get your act together<\/FONT>.  Capice?<\/FONT><\/DIV>

U.S. District Judge <\/FONT>J. Garvan Murtha sentenced Doria (who <\/FONT><\/DIV>

was originally facing up to 145 years<\/FONT><\/A>) to <\/FONT>only one month in <\/FONT><\/DIV>

prison.  We agree with Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Woodcock, who said “embarrassment is not in the senten-<\/FONT><\/DIV>

cing <\/FONT>guidelines.”   (see<\/A> AP\/Burlington Free Press<\/EM>) <\/FONT><\/DIV>
