Florida Supreme Court’s decision banning a law firm’s Pit Bull logo, in <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Florida Bar v. <\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>John Pape and Marc Chandler<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A>,<\/FONT> (see our <\/FONT><\/FONT>prior post<\/A><\/FONT>).  <\/FONT><\/DIV>

After very long thought and utterly serious deliberation, the Florida <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Supreme Court has unanimously pronounced pit bulls to be very <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
bad dogs. Much too bad, you see, to symbolize a lawyer’s services. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n

We are not making this up, but we wish we were.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

The reason why the court scoured law books and the Internet for  \"dog<\/FONT><\/DIV>

dignity of the legal profession, which obviously takes itself much too <\/FONT><\/DIV>

The real harm, however, was to the First Amendment . . . <\/FONT><\/DIV>

. . . But the court is kidding only itself if it thinks that censoring the <\/FONT><\/DIV>

profession’s advertising will make lawyers look like pussycats to the <\/FONT><\/DIV>

In case the Florida Supreme Court needs a new symbol\/logo for its <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
homepage<\/A>, the f\/k\/a<\/EM> Gang, after at least as much deliberation as the <\/FONT><\/DIV>
