Getting organized and staying on task is not always easy for many <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

lawyers — myself most definitely included.  Indeed, I know very few <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

lawyers who get anything completed (started?) before a deadline is <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

imminent.  As a weblogger, I can also say it has been very difficult <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
\n
for me to color within the lines — to pick a realistic schedule or <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
\n
time commitment and stick to it, no matter what is posted else-<\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

where or what arrives as a Comment or email.  That’s why I can <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>
\n
appreciate <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Carolyn’s new routine<\/A>, which keeps weblog posting out <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV>

I do want to make one quibble <\/FONT><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>with the author of the article, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

Robin Page West.  In a list of recommendations, Robin says<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
we should “adopt the attitude that we deserve to be happy.”<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
I believe that thinking you deserve<\/EM> happiness — as opposed <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
to thinking <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>that you are worthy<\/EM> of it — can be a sure recipe for <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
frustration that prevents happiness.  It’s better to banish any <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
notion <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>that you are somehow unworthy of happiness (due to <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
flaws) <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>or that you cannot be <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>happy until certain prerequisities <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
are <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>met in your life. Then, be open to finding happiness in what <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
is <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>around you — and in what you can reach with a little effort.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

the news on Halloween (at 5, 6, 10, and 11 PM) with the <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
sexual predator story.  So, we got to hear more parents <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
say how much they appreciate the restrictions, and more<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
politicians and police officers saying all they did last <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
night to keep those predators in place.  <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
Naturally, there was not even one mention that no one  <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
on parole for sex predation has committed such an offense<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
on Halloween within the memory of any official across the <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
nation.  (see our <\/FONT>prior post<\/FONT><\/A>)<\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> <\/DIV>

One lone voice of wisdom on the topic on our local   \"wolf<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

airways was the owner of <\/FONT>The Costumer<\/FONT><\/A>, in Schenectady,<\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
who told <\/FONT>Capital News 9<\/FONT><\/A>: <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

“The thing that frightens me is the sex offender <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
that hasn’t been caught yet. He’s still out there, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

and how to prevent that kind of involvement — <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
mother and father.”<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV><\/BLOCKQUOTE>
\n
Also, the New York Civil Liberties Union told Channel 9  that<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
“The public would be better served by comprehensive and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
effective means of protecting children from sexual predators <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
on the other 364 days a year and not just on Halloween.” On<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
balance, I think the tv stations are guiltier than the politicians <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
for milking this non-story and using unjustified scare tactics. Of <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
course, it was government officials who decided to waste the <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
resources required to pull off this great Halloween sham.<\/FONT> <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
