But, that didn’t stop the Wizard of Oz — Chief Executive of Emerald City<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
— from jilting Harriet Quagmier, his longtime courtesan, this morning.  <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Calling it <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>only a change in titles, the dispirited Harriet is expected to<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
remain at the Wiz House long enough to save face.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n

There have, of course, been rumors of a break-up for weeks.  Some <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

sources blame it on angry in-laws, others on religious differences. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Palace gossip has described shouting matches with epithets such <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
as “brainless,” “heartless” and “cowardly.”  Others say the Wizard <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
could no longer trust Harriet to keep his secrets behind that curtain.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n

both nominally-loyal noblemen as well as rivals — that the Wizard already<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
has a replacement for Harriet.  Shockingly, it is unknown whether the <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
next courtesan is male or female, West Coast or East Coast, strict or <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
loose.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> <\/DIV>
\n
The f\/k\/a news organization will be following this story ’round the clock, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
but is admittedly confused over the cast<\/A> of characters<\/A>.  It seems clear <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
that the Wizard is not taking advice from the Good Witch of the North;<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
whether Harriet’s archrival,<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT> the Wicked Witch of the West<\/FONT><\/A>, has his ear <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
(or other parts of his anatomy) is still unknown.  <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>

Doc Williams, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>Butch Barton, have been suggested as <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>Harriet’s <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
replacement, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>along with two younger men referred to only as <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>Wally and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
Barry, and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>Constance Edwards, a legal secretary.   We <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT>would not be <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
\n
surprised to hear more gossip about other women, soon.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/DIV>
