Peace Protestors Banned from Pumpkin Fest Parade<\/font><\/a>: <\/font><\/em>This is a<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

little hard for me to swallow. The DeKalb, IL, Pumpkin Fest won’t <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

let the DeKalb Interfaith Network for Peace & Justice participate <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

in this year’s parade — apparently because the organizers received <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

a number of written and oral complaints about their past participation.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Organizers said they don’t need a reason to reject a group and that <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

“nothing controversial” would be allowed. The peace group offered <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

to “carry only signs that promoted peace, not any that referred to <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

any particular political issue, war or federal office holder,” but that <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
