third) weblog anniversary.\u00a0 Nonetheless, I can&#8217;t <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">let May 26th <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">pass without noting that:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><em>two<\/em> years ago today, the <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2003\/05\/26#a5\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">first <em>ethicalEsq<\/em> post<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\"> appeared<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><em>one<\/em> year ago today, <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2004\/05\/26#a1558\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">f\/k\/a was born<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">,\u00a0with <em>haikuEsq <\/em>taking <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/ethicalesq\/boywritingflip.gif\" alt=\"boy writing flip\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">over as Editor, and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/stories\/storyReader$1574\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;color: #000000;font-size: x-small\">Prof. Yabut<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\"> forced into emeritus status<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">(a new no-punditry policy was also announced, but temptation <\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">soon proved too great; see <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/about\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;color: #000000;font-size: x-small\">About<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">)<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">Last May 26th, we\u00a0even made a good faith attempt to <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">join in the spirit of <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\">the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smilemania.com\/pages\/517558\/index.htm\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\">Annual Grump Out<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\">.\u00a0 Happily, no one told us they <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">moved the event <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">to <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">May 25 for 2005, and we inadvertently <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">missed it. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">Despite\u00a0any zen-ny haiku <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">pretensions, we&#8217;re still card-<\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">carrying members <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">of <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">Curmudgeons-R-Us.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11095\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2005\/05\/prof-yabut-small.jpg\" alt=\"prof yabut (small)\" width=\"34\" height=\"54\" \/> I don&#8217;t know whether weblogging is caused by a gene or a virus, but <\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">I surely have the malady<\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">.\u00a0 I&#8217;m grateful the technology came about at a time when I <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">was searching for a way to be <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">productive (despite health problems), <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">and when <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">I <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">had a lot that I wanted to say about the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">legal <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">profession <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><em>and <\/em>about the wonders <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">of haiku.\u00a0 A couple dozen regular visitors would have kept me going, but I&#8217;m<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">most grateful to have many times that number.\u00a0 Similarly, finding a couple of <\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">great <\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">haiku poets to share with you would have felt like quite an accomplish-<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">ment &#8212; but, as of this week, there are two dozen of the best English-language<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,Serif;font-size: x-small\">haijin appearing here everyday and archived for repeat enjoyment.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: x-small\"> <\/span><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif;font-size: x-small\">crawl and laugh&#8211;<br \/>\nfrom this morning on<br \/>\na two year old!<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: x-small\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: x-small\"> <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><a
