I believe liberals are too quick to ostracize<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">those who do not conform to every part of their political platform, and too<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">slow to think about questions of political philosophy.  They\/we should indeed <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">listen to Brooks:  <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">&#8220;If I were a liberal, which I used to be, I wouldn&#8217;t want message <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">discipline. I&#8217;d take this opportunity to have a big debate about the <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">things Thomas Paine, Herbert Croly, Isaiah Berlin, R. H. Tawney <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><br \/>\n<\/font><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times,Serif\" size=\"2\">and John Dewey were writing about.
