We hope all this good will from the promoters of the Beautiful Lawyers Calendar will bring you to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/purchase.html\">purchase a calendar<\/a> to help a number of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/charities.html\">good causes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Yabut and the <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> Gang thought you might want to know that for us the best part of this whole Calendar-Wendy Phenomenon has been getting to correspond with Wendy.\u00a0 Having been around quite a few beautiful and smart female lawyers over the past 30 years, I was not the least bit surprised to discover the thoughtful, multi-faceted woman behind the instant-celebrity persona.\u00a0 None of the other beautiful lawyers in my life ever got so much public attention, but I&#8217;m pretty sure they also would have responded in the same level-headed, modest way as Wendy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/images\/WENDY\/6b_Wendy_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/images\/WENDY\/6b_Wendy_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"155\" height=\"155\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">.. Friery<\/a>, <del>M.D.<\/del>, Esq., is another very good reason to buy this calendar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 30px\"><strong><em><del>Dr.<\/del> Susan Friery [a\/k\/a Susan Mowbray] Update<\/em><\/strong> (Feb. 8, 2013): Prof. Yabut, dagosan and I were impressed that Susan Friery had both a medical and law degree.\u00a0\u00a0 So, &#8220;we&#8221; were quite disappointed to find out rather belatedly today that she had been falsely claiming to have a medical degree from Columbia University (and saying she graduated in the top 1% of her class).\u00a0 Clearly, missing this bit of gossip shows how much we&#8217;ve been out of the blawg loop these past four years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 30px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/11\/Susan-Friery-head.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"108\" height=\"128\" \/>\u00a0A notice that I saw today in the February 2013 edition of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcbar.org\/for_lawyers\/resources\/publications\/washington_lawyer\/february_2013\/barcounsel.cfm\">Washington Lawyer<\/a><\/em> announced the reciprocal 2-year suspension of Friery&#8217;s license due to her false representations in Massachusetts. (<a href=\"http:\/\/law.justia.com\/cases\/district-of-columbia\/court-of-appeals\/2012\/12-bg-720.html\">D.C. decision<\/a>) The <a href=\"http:\/\/massbbo.org\/bbolookup.php\">Massachusetts decision<\/a> to suspend her for two years is dated Jan. 3, 2012.\u00a0 The extent and long duration (a quarter of a century) of her deception at the firm of Kreindler &amp; Kreindler can be seen in the K&amp;K <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/prnewswire\/press_releases\/2009\/12\/11\/DC24546\">press release<\/a> announcing that &#8220;Dr. Friery&#8221; had been elected a partner.\u00a0 The Massachusetts court found that K&amp;K did not know of the misrepresentation until the time of her resignation from the firm and that clients were not harmed. (I was surprised that the court never used the name of the law firm in its decision.)\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/lawprofessors.typepad.com\/legal_profession\/2012\/02\/re.html\"><em>Legal Profession Blog<\/em><\/a> broke the news on Feb. 2, 2012, but followed its policy of not naming the disciplined attorney; <a href=\"http:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/tag\/susan-friery\/\"><em>Above the Law<\/em><\/a> reported the suspension on Feb. 6, 2012, naming Ms. Friery and noting she had been chosen for the 2009 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/\">Beautiful Lawyers calendar<\/a>. Staci at <em>ATL<\/em> credited <a href=\"http:\/\/newsandinsight.thomsonreuters.com\/Legal\/News\/2012\/02_-_February\/Attorney_suspended_for_posing_as_physician\/\">Thomson Reuters News &amp; Insight<\/a> for the story.\u00a0 That Feb. 3, 2012 article has a good summary of this sad tale.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, see <a href=\"http:\/\/lesliebrodie.blog.co.uk\/2012\/02\/13\/susan-friery-aka-susan-mowbray-biography-as-was-posted-on-kreindler-kreindler-s-website-12773650\/\">The Leslie Brodie Report<\/a>, which has the K&amp;K bio of Dr. Susan Friery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 60px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/11\/Silo-Friery.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-14458\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/11\/Silo-Friery.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"73\" height=\"69\" \/><\/a>\u00a0As the <em>Legal Profession Blog<\/em> noted, rather than earning a medical degree, &#8220;She had four semesters toward a Ph.D. in pathology and had worked as a morgue technician.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 The former <em>f\/k\/a<\/em> gang hopes Ms. Friery is still flexible and that good-doggie Silo has remained loyal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">By the way, I was not impressed that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avvo.com\/attorneys\/10017-ny-susan-friery-704830.html?cm_mmc=Whitepages-_-Syndication-_-Whitepages_Local-_-Susan_A_Friery\">avvo.com&#8217;s profile<\/a> of Ms. Friery still says &#8220;We have not found any instances of professional misconduct for this lawyer.&#8221; In addition, neither <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lawyer.com\/friery-susan-a.html\">Law.com<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lawdragon.com\/lawyer_profile\/7446\">Lawdragon<\/a>.com, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediation.com\/memberprofile\/susan-a-friery-10017-5b.aspx\">Mediation<\/a>.com, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quickclickattorney.com\/attorney\/ny\/susan-friery\/1152037\">Quick Click Attorney<\/a> mentions the 13-month-old Massachusetts suspension.\u00a0 The D.C.
