Instead of getting down to finishing an important legal ethics essay, we&#8217;ve compiled this little fluff piece [which has become the most visited posting in the history of our weblog] for the throngs of Google searchers trying to find the irresistible &#8220;Wendy Savage&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">in the middle<br \/>\nof the distraction \u2013<br \/>\nan interruption<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026. by <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/dagosans-archives\/\"><em>dagosan<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/09\/wendy_9thumbnail_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/> <strong><em>A<\/em><\/strong>ccording to <em>f\/k\/a<\/em>&#8216;s statistics page, <em>a lot<\/em> of people across the nation have been looking for &#8220;Wendy Savage&#8221; over the past several weeks.  Today, however, the number of referrals to this weblog from Google searches for Ms. Savage mushroomed (with more than a thousand visitors as of 4 PM, and at least 2500 by midnight), thanks to the <em>Boston Globe<\/em> article &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/articles\/2008\/10\/23\/calendar_is_exhibit_a_in_case_for_beautiful_lawyers\/\">Calendar is Exhibit A in case for beautiful lawyers<\/a>&#8221; (Oct. 23, 2008).  The article includes a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/massachusetts\/gallery\/101508_lawyers\/\">photo gallery<\/a> with 13 pictures from the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/\">Beautiful Lawyers Calendar<\/a><\/em>. (And see &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/news\/big_firm_lawyers_posed_for_hottie_calendar\/\">Big-Firm Lawyers Posed for Hottie Calendar<\/a>&#8220;<em>, ABAJournal News<\/em>, Oct. 23, 2008).<\/p>\n<p>The Google searchers have been arriving at our site due to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/10\/02\/10073\/\">this post<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/09\/13\/20-for-a-beautiful-lawyers-calendar\/\">that one<\/a> about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautifullawyers.com\/\">Beautiful Lawyers Calendar<\/a>, which contains photos of six men and six women who practice law in the Boston area.  One of the calendar models is Wendy Savage, the very lovely in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual in Boston, who graduated from <a href=\"http:\/\/web.bu.edu\/phpbin\/news-cms\/news\/?dept=634&amp;id=51129\">Boston University Law School<\/a> in 2006. I&#8217;m fairly certain Counselor Savage is the person most querists are seeking when they put the name in their Google box. [WCVB\/<em>BostonChannel.com<\/em> had the photo on September 29, 2008, in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebostonchannel.com\/slideshow\/entertainment\/17581856\/detail.html\">slide show<\/a>.] The <em>Boston Globe<\/em> tells us that Wendy Savage will be featured in March 2008 on the Beautiful Lawyers Calendar.  The blurb accompanying the photo says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em> Wendy, a corporate counsel for Liberty Mutual, lists fashion photography and equestrian sports among her hobbies. One day, she hopes to work as a legal correspondent in the fashion or entertainment industries.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 30px\">For those who need to know more about the Liberty Mutual lawyer, here&#8217;s information (probably culled from the Calendar) presented earlier this month at <a href=\"http:\/\/exhibitanewsboston.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/07\/beautiful-lawyers-seriously\/\"><em>Exhibit A<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">WENDY SAVAGE<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">Job: In-house lawyer, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Boston<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">Age: 28<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">Personal status: \u201cMy fianc\u00e9 proposed to me and took me to Paris as a surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;padding-left: 90px\">Before she became a lawyer, Wendy Savage dreamed of a career in modeling. Her Middlesex, however, is located in the United Kingdom, not in the Massachusetts County that lies just northwest of Boston. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asha-foundation.org\/women\/women\/wendy_savage.php\">AHA Foundation<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">&#8220;Born on April 12th, 1935 in Surrey, Wendy Savage is a distinguished gynaecologist and champion of women\u2019s rights in childbirth and fertility.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1904750583\/ref=nosim\/schildnet0a\">Indeed<\/a>, she became a cause c\u00e9l\u00e8bre, in 1985, when she was suspended from her post at the London Hospital Medical College, accused of incompetence in the management of five obstetric cases.  The allegations were not upheld, and Dr. Savage was reinstated in 1986; she retired in 2000.  Her book &#8220;<em>A Savage Enquiry: Who Controls Childbirth?<\/em>&#8221; described that experience and is included in the 2007 sequel <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.books-by-isbn.com\/1-904750\/1904750583-Birth-and-Power-A-Savage-Enquiry-Revisited-1-904750-58-3.html\">Birth and Power<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/10\/froglegsn_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10194\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/files\/2008\/10\/froglegsn_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"60\" height=\"60\" \/><\/a> Well, that should be enough Wendy Savages to fulfill any Googler&#8217;s needs.  I&#8217;ve got a frog or two to eat and more serious writing to work on today.
