一位美国女作家曾经说过：“治疗枯燥无聊有好奇心，但对好奇心却无医可治。”如果一旦开始翻阅罗马帝国历史，你便会对古罗马历史，帝国分裂时期，乃至后来的东罗马帝国产生越发浓厚的兴趣，对了解今天的西方文明收益匪浅。毕竟，现在的文化也是一步步积累而来的。当然，此前最好还是先拜读一下大开眼界的古希腊神话故事，然后设身处地带着历史感觉游走这些古迹。。。
