In today’s competitive job market, to stand out from the crowd you need a well crafted story that highlights what makes you the best leader for the job. In this workshop, you will work with your colleagues to understand the philosophy behind this concept and develop your individual career story.<\/p>\n

Situational Leadership<\/strong>

Very often leadership development programs focus on the individual and not the relationship between the individual and those s\/he leads. It is important for leaders to understand that within any given group, the needs of those they are leading will be\u00a0very different. This means the approach\u00a0to leading each individual will vary. Good leaders must come to understand that\u00a0“one size\u00a0fits all”\u00a0does not apply to leadership.<\/p>\n

In this session, Jessica Soban will\u00a0lead a conversation on the topic of\u00a0situational leadership. As a former\u00a0manager\u00a0in the consulting firm\u00a0Bain and Company, Jessica was able to observe the importance of situational leadership, which ultimately led to her becoming a manager within the company.<\/p>\n

Strengths Based Leadership<\/strong>

Kathy Baron will lead us through the Strengths Based Leadership workshop. \u00a0 As a leader\/manager, your role is to bring out the best in your employees; they come to work each day, doing the best work that they can.\u00a0 You can only do this by understanding your strengths and those of the people on your team.\u00a0 By using the lens of strengths, you can become a more effective leader of your team and organization.\u00a0 Learning strength-based leadership skills early in your career will set you up for success as a leader. \u00a0 During the workshop, we will learn the \u201cThree Keys\u201d to being a successful leader: Knowing Your Strengths, Getting People with the Right Strengths on Your Team, and Meeting the Four Basic Needs of Followers<\/p>\n

Emerging Leaders participants will deliver all of the gifts from the drive to the Blue Hill Boys and Girls Club in Boston, MA. The club will have a little party and EL participants will get to meet and interact with the club youth.<\/p>\n

Mentorship Workshop<\/strong>

In this workshop, we will learn what a mentoring relationship is and how it can assist in your leadership.\u00a0 We will explore the ways a mentor can help us set goals.\u00a0 This workshop will also discuss the ways a mentor can be the most effective and how we can be an effective mentee.<\/p>\n

Peer Coaching

Coaching is a process that realizes the potential of individuals and creates lasting change.\u00a0 The purpose of this session is to define your developmental, career, and professional goals and practice coaching each other using coaching tools.\u00a0\u00a0 During this session,\u00a0 you will create and discuss your SMART goals that play to your strengths.\u00a0 We will focus on the transformation that comes from curiosity and asking powerful questions as you make progress to goals.\u00a0 You will also learn important coaching skills that you can use on yourself or with others.<\/p>\n
