Hello!
My name is Emanuel Pessoa. I hold a LLM from Harvard Law School (’12), and both a MSc (Law) and a JD fromthe Federal University of Ceará (‘2008, ‘2006); currently, I am a PhD Candidate in Economic Law (University of São Paulo). I am also a member of the São Paulo Industries Federation’s Young Entrepreneur International Relations Commission and a former fellow of Fundação Estudar, Instituto Ling, Harvard University, National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Federal University of Ceará. I used to be a member of Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Brazil, a group that nurtures startups through venture capital and mentoring.
I practice Law mostly in São Paulo and Fortaleza, working in fields such as International Law, Investments, Contracts and M&A, Project Finance, PPP, Arbitration, Innovation (startups) and I teach courses on Negotiation, applying the Harvard method. My practice is directed towards offering practical and efficient solutions accordingly to the needs faced. Diligence, discretion and dedication, always.
I decided to start this blog as a means to offer accurate and reliable information about Brazilian Law to all those who are interested in it, may they be Brazilians or not, scholars, professionals or simply persons willing to know more about the legal system of the biggest Latin America country.
