I am greatly disheartened by this, but it<br \/>\nwill help me be more selective about what I read.<\/p>\n<p>That said, here&#8217;s my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\">boingboing<\/a> link of the week, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rand.org\/pardee\/50books\/50books-list.pdf\">50 Books for Thinking about the Future Human Condition<\/a> (warning: link opens to a pdf).&nbsp; Sadly, I&#8217;ve only read one work on the list (Diamond&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0393317552\/sr=1-1\/qid=1138390151\/ref=pd_bbs_1\/104-0825312-3975163?%5Fencoding=UTF8\">Guns, Germs, and Steel<\/a>).&nbsp; I wish that grown-ups had the option of a summer break, so that I could make a dent in this list.<\/p>\n<p>Edit: And as further proof that she is connected to everyone, <a href=\"http:\/\/ssrdatta.blogspot.com\">SSRD<\/a> has pointed out that her uncle wrote #15 on the list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I ran the numbers lately.&nbsp; Currently, I have time to read 4-5 books a year.&nbsp; This means, in the next 30 years, I may be able to read only 120-150 books.
