And<br \/>\nI think that answer is no.&nbsp; Sure, I did not have money for braces,<br \/>\nand my mom went into considerable debt to send me to debate camp, of<br \/>\nall kooky things, but at least debate camp was on the radar, and my<br \/>\ngrandmother subsidized my J. Crew habit back then.&nbsp; It was always<br \/>\nabout feeling less well off than my relatives.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\">Chronicle<\/a> points out what it takes to <a href=\"http:\/\/sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?file=\/c\/a\/2005\/09\/28\/MNGF8EV3UL1.DTL\">eek out a living in the Bay Area<\/a>:<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><font size=\"2\"><font size=\"3\">In the Bay Area, her group found, a single adult needs to make $27,901 a<br \/>\nyear or $13.41 an hour to cover those expenses. A single parent with two<br \/>\nchildren needs $62,969 a year or $30.27 an hour.
