Not so surprisingly, the RIAA sees it differently.   Apparently, the DMCA just doesn&#8217;t quite go far enough.<br \/>\n<a title=\"The Intellectual Property Protection Act of 2007\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dmwmedia.com\/news\/2007\/05\/15\/gonzales-copyright-bill-would-criminalize-attempted-infringement\">The Intellectual Property Protection Act of 2007<\/a> would &#8220;stiffen penalties for violating anti-circumvention provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and other copyright crimes&#8221;.  This bill also introduces two completely new federal crimes, &#8220;attempted copyright infringement&#8221; and &#8220;distribution&#8221; of copyrighted materials.  I suppose next up is &#8220;trafficking&#8221; and &#8220;paraphernalia&#8221;, making it a federal crime to have more than one 50-pack of CD-Rs at a time.
