Intro<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome back and check-in.. we met many times during January, but I will include notes from the most recent meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Group gave hugs<\/li>\n<li>Welcome Heather Craig! She is joining DocShop!!<\/li>\n<li>We applied to i-Lab Dean&#8217;s Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge.. we should hear soon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>II. Progress and notes from the field<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Tina&#8211; <\/b>at Global Voices in Manila, Phillipines. Balanga Elementary school&gt; museum in the back. Memory and ethnography.<\/p>\n<p><b>Lara&#8211; <\/b>Showed pieces of BackStory timeline in Egypt, built a kitchen<\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew&#8211; <\/b>group with Peter Macmurray focused on archive and humanities, other connections for DocShop\/Vox Populi<\/p>\n<p><b>Valery&#8211;<\/b> continues work on N. Dakota oil boom project<\/p>\n<p><b>Dan&#8211; <\/b>continues work on spatialized archive, show at Kirkland gallery with Magic card and sledding parties<\/p>\n<p><b>Cris&#8211; <\/b>talked about premiere of <i>Cold Storage<\/i> and launching of webdoc, good turnout of architects, humanists, and other interesting folks. Group gave their initial impressions, more detailed workshop soon.<\/p>\n<p><b>Joe&#8211; <\/b>continues to be interested in memory and narrative in tackling archives<\/p>\n<p><b>Heather&#8211; <\/b>MIT CMS, Datalore Hackathon, interest in storytelling and currently working on interactive doc about pebble mine<\/p>\n<p><b>III. Lara (MIT OpenDocLab Fellow we are incubating) went into more detail on her ideas for <\/b><b><i>Vox Populi <\/i><\/b><b>this semester:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b> Her need from us will be:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Production\/Exhibitions (what prototyping and production needs we can meet, vs. farm out)<\/li>\n<li>Methodology (the field guide and some pedagogy reflections, focus groups)<\/li>\n<li>Proposal (a more refined proposal to send to institutions, orgs, museums)<\/li>\n<li>Documentation (video, ethnography of the events, interviews, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Pedagogy design (practice of the \u2018socratic circle\u2019 and other workshops we could run related to <em>Vox Pop<\/em> and DocShop&#8217;s goals\/skills)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dpsi\/files\/2015\/02\/IMG_2037.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-727\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dpsi\/files\/2015\/02\/IMG_2037-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2037\" width=\"436\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dpsi\/files\/2015\/02\/IMG_2037-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dpsi\/files\/2015\/02\/IMG_2037-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 436px) 100vw, 436px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next meeting Thurs. 2\/19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I.
